    Training Manager /Obedience Trainer/Behavior Consultant

Leah was destined to work with dogs from the start! Rather than play with baby dolls like the rest of the girls her age, she played with stuffed animals. As a young adult she couldn’t have a dog she used her creative training to teach her cat, Moose, to sit on command. This training success deepened her quest for knowledge so she began reading and collecting every behavior and training book she could get her hands on! Her dream of owning a dog came true when she found Roxy (a Corgi/Sheltie mix) abandoned in a mall parking lot in Reno, NV. Instantly the two took to training and went on to earn Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dogs, Intl. certifications as well as titles in Rally-Obedience (achieving a High-In-Trial ribbon at their very first show!) and competing in Competitive Obedience. Her next dog, Jack, has not been as easy to train as Roxy, but has taught her a LOT about canine anxiety and leash reactivity, as well as the importance of treating EVERY dog as an individual. She will often tell people that he makes her a better trainer (sometimes on a daily basis!). Leah knew she wanted Dog Training to be her career and started by helping friends, family members and acquaintances. However, she wanted to reach more people and went to work for a big box store, eventually becoming the Lead Trainer in the busiest store of the chain for 6 years. She realized the retail aspect of the job was drawing too much time away from the training side and decided to join Noble Beast Dog Training. Leah is passionate about furthering her education by constantly adding to her library of training books and videos, and attending educational seminars related to dog training and behavior. Her ultimate goal is to help people and dogs build relationships based on trust and respect, so that people will feel encouraged to do more with their dogs and dogs can have the most enriching life possible!
