Jenn Platte

Jenn spent a great deal of her childhood reading everything she could about dogs (among other subjects). Later, she used that knowledge to successfully compete in AKC conformation and junior handling events with various breeds.

She moved to Colorado to complete her MA in English at the University of Colorado with her beloved Smooth Collie, Jake, who saw her through her degree and the first part of her nearly 15 years of work in non-profit health care. During that time, she began to volunteer as a foster home for rescue Collies and Shelties. This was how her next heart dog, a second Smooth Collie, Barkley, came into her life. Together, they learned obedience, agility, and rally and dabbled in B’s favorite sport, sheep herding.

After losing B to old age in late 2021, Jenn decided to refocus her career objectives and focus on doing something she’s loved her whole life: working with dogs! In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spoiling her sweet tabby cat, Mahi.
